The last week of June is a WILD time to work in a charity.
Panic has already set in for the targets that haven’t yet been met. The sheer elation as everything changes in one phone call from a generous donor. And the anticipation of the upcoming break in traffic as another crazy, whirlwind year full of ups and downs draws to a close ![]()
If I can give one piece of advice for this week, it’s don’t underestimate those free, accessible tools at your disposal.
Pick up the phone to major donors you haven’t heard from in a while.
Create and send a passionate e-appeal (don’t forget to segment; those who have already given recently don’t need to hear from you again unless you’re primarily saying thank you).
Ask key stakeholders to share your end of year appeal with their networks.
All these small but intentional actions have the potential to reach the one donor who turns targets around and helps increase your impact into the next financial year.
As FY25 reaches its crescendo, one last piece of advice for fundraisers…don’t forget to breathe.
Because, let’s be honest, we wouldn’t have any of this any other way.
