In November 2014, I stepped a tentative foot into a gym for the first time in my life.
Aged 35, I was unconditioned, lacked confidence and was riddled with anxiety.
While I wasn’t excessively overweight, as an ex-smoker who knew zilch about nutrition, my insides were a mess.
I’d struggled with my weight since I was a kid and was caught in a cycle of yo yo dieting and binging which was taking its toll on my health.
Something had to be done to get my health back in check. As a first-time exerciser, I was terrified of the gym and everything and everyone in it!
While those early sessions were some of the most painful 45 minutes’ of my life, from my first PT session, I started to learn what it meant to be healthy and felt the benefits of consistent exercise immediately including:
-
- Better sleep
- Stronger immune system
- Clearer skin
- Reduced anxiety
- Nutrition knowledge
- More energy
- Better mental clarity
- Increased confidence
Almost five years later, I’ve never looked back.
When Words and the Bees was founded in early 2016, everyone told me I needed to pick a niche. To specialise and offer a dedicated service to one industry or area.
I never specialised completely, but understanding how much regular exercise can completely turn someone’s life around, health and wellbeing have always been a huge passion of mine and I’ve always jumped at any opportunity which allows me to use my words to encourage people to exercise.
Last year, I was approached by a client who was working on a small, online resource to encourage people into an exercise program and needed help with the copywriting element.
Dream job!!
With my client’s personal training and wellness expertise and my passion for helping people improve, the project grew and grew. The copywriting element was finally completed in April of this year…a full NINE MONTHS after we started (trust me, this one was HUGE!).
And that’s what passion, creative vision and a way with the written word can achieve.
The finishing touches are currently being added to the project and it’s still under wraps until the launch date, but I can’t wait to share with you.
In the meantime, here’s what Nadine had to say about working with Words and the Bees:
